Description Join Leidos as a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect to support the United States Space Force (USSF) Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) for the Digital Bloodhound program. We are looking for a dynamic leader and innovative problem solver who can deliver exceptional results within a fast-paced, high-profile environment. This role will involve direct cloud architecture and engineering support to the USSF/SSC's SZWO/Defensive Cyber Operations-Space (DCO-S) organization, enhancing decision-making capabilities at speed, while maximizing flexibility and efficiency in the delivery of cybersecurity services to safeguard the USSF's Operational Enterprise.
As a successful candidate, you will have a comprehensive understanding of private, public, and hybrid cloud frameworks, coupled with outstanding communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
Primary Responsibilities: - Design and implement hybrid cloud environments for DCO-S initiatives, ensuring critical applications are optimized for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Integrate various capabilities and models into the new cloud-based infrastructure.
- Define requirements for the DCO-S during the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including integration, upgrades, and maintenance of the hybrid cloud environment.
- Back decisions with thorough research, clearly articulating options, pros, and cons for all recommendations.
- Develop architectural solutions and evaluate alternatives for hybrid cloud models, encompassing IaaS, PaaS, and other services.
- Guide the transition of legacy systems to modern cloud platforms and facilitate their integration into DCO-S solutions.
- Design enterprise and systems security throughout the cloud development lifecycle, translating technology requirements into effective security designs and processes.
- Create security requirements that mitigate risks while maintaining operational cybersecurity capabilities across the USSF.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, trends, and emerging technologies, evaluating their impact on DCO-S software development strategies.
- Review architecture to ensure compliance with DCO-S program goals, participating in technical discussions and working groups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX/UI designers, and quality assurance, to deliver software solutions that satisfy DCO-S requirements.
- Engage with USSF Test Enterprise leadership and program managers to communicate security objectives relative to cost, schedule, and performance.
- Provide regular updates and presentations on DCO-S software development status, achievements, and challenges to stakeholders and senior management.
- Establish quality assurance protocols to ensure reliable, secure, and regulation-compliant software solutions.
- Advocate for process automation to streamline operations and enhance solution reusability.
- Utilize cloud technologies to design and develop scalable, reliable software solutions.
Basic Qualifications: - Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Possess a Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in technical architecture, focusing on large IT operations within government or private sectors.
- Proficiency in cloud architecture features such as OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, and elastic scalability.
- Experience in deploying capabilities on DoD Cloud Service Providers, including AWS, Microsoft, Google, and Oracle.
- Knowledge and experience with DevSecOps toolchains and processes, encompassing Infrastructure as Code.
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, NiFi, Spark, and PySpark.
- Experience with application migration processes.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
- Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience in government client environments.
- Familiarity with security protocols in SCIF/SAPF settings.
- Experience implementing cloud security measures.
- Possession of certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Red Hat Certified Architect.
- Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility is highly desired.
