A top government integrator is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. As part of an Enterprise Cloud Services team, the Lead Cloud Engineer will be responsible for leading the Engineering & Operations team and overseeing the deployment of a scalable, secure, and resilient cloud environment.

To be considered for this 100% REMOTE position, the qualified professional MUST HOLD or BE ABLE to obtain Public Trust and MUST BE a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the cloud engineering and operations team for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Understand the scope and manage the prioritization of ServiceNow requests, changes, and Jira tasks for provisioning, modifying, troubleshooting, and decommissioning cloud services
  • Advise and enhance cloud team process improvements using cloud best practices and team standards
  • Coordinate with team counterparts internal to the cloud services team and with peers leads (eg. OS, database, monitoring teams)
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to cloud team on provisioning new resources and resolution of infrastructure issues
  • Provide system monitoring and incident management for cloud environments
  • Manage operations in cloud environments and ensure the high availability and performance of those environments
  • Evaluate and operationalize cloud services, tools, and technologies
  • Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) policies and tools to control user permissions and access to cloud environments.
  • Monitor Cloud overall health and address/identify issues and address with cloud services team and/or cloud customers to resolve
Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of related work experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong experience in writing and deploying Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Cloud Formation, Terraform, CDK) to provision Cloud Infrastructure
  • Experience leading a Cloud team that performs the provisioning of Cloud Infrastructure resources and operational support of provisioned resources
  • Experience with a breadth of Cloud Infrastructure resources
  • Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, and similar toolsets for workflow management
  • Experience with SolarWinds, Splunk, and similar tools for logging and monitoring
Desired Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud Technologies including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or other Public Cloud Services with an emphasis on AWS experience
  • 2+ years of experience with Python and/or similar Clou Scripting Language
  • At least 1 Cloud certification at the associate level or higher in AWS
  • AWS / Cloud Networking experience
