PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Lead Clinical Nurse on a Direct Hire basis. This role is based out of Upper Manhattan, NY. This involves a 4-day workweek Mon-Fri.
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Clinical Nurse to provide operational and administrative support, ensuring high-quality patient care and compliance with healthcare regulations. This role involves overseeing clinical nursing functions, mentoring staff, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Lead Clinical Nurse will play a critical role in patient care management and team coordination.
Responsibilities
- Support the Nurse Manager in supervising clinical nursing, medical assistants, nutrition, child life, unit coordinators, and PACU staff.
- Assist with patient assignments, scheduling, and workflow coordination.
- Update and maintain nursing policies and procedures.
- Train and onboard new nursing staff to ensure adherence to protocols.
- Conduct patient assessments, measure vital signs, and administer IVs.
- Provide clear, compassionate communication to patients and caregivers, escalating concerns to physicians when necessary.
- Oversee and ensure evidence-based patient care for individuals undergoing cancer treatment.
- Coordinate with research teams for clinical trial enrollment and compliance.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare privacy regulations.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of nursing experience.
- Prior leadership, supervisory, management, or charge related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Active and valid NY Registered Nurse License.
- BLS certification required; PALS and ACLS preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records; ARIA Oncology Information System experience preferred.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- High level of integrity in handling confidential patient information.
- Background in Radiation Oncology or specialty nursing certification preferred.
