The Bellevue Club Recreation Department is looking to hire energetic, service-oriented individuals to work as a part-time Lead Camp Instructors. Camps run from June 23rd through August 29th. Hours are Monday -Friday 8am-6pm for a minimum of 8 weeks out of our 11-week summer camps.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Mandatory attendance to the Staff Training prior to the start of camp (Date TBD)
  • Work under the direction of the Recreation Director and Youth Programs Manager to ensure the camp vision and essential functions are being met. Meet with them regularly regarding concerns, updates, and challenges.
  • Responsible for a group of 15-20 children daily, accompany them during all camp events and activities.
  • Plan, organize and execute weekly camp schedules
  • Sets a good example for campers and Summer Camp Instructors in all areas including cleanliness, punctuality, rules, and sportsmanship.
  • Learns the like and dislikes of each camper and caters schedule and activities accordingly.
  • Maintain attendance and permission slip records for all campers
  • Communicate daily with parents
  • Knowledge of rules and policies. Assist in enforcement.
  • Assign tasks and monitor break schedules for Camp Assistants.
  • Supervise and guide Camp Instructors in activity participating in all aspects of the camper's day.

Week 1: June 23rd - 27th

Week 2: June 30th - July 3rd (No Camps on July 4th)

Week 3: July 7th -11th

Week 4: July 14th -18th

Week 5: July 21st - 25th

Week 6: July 28th - Aug. 1st

Week 7: Aug. 4th - 8th

Week 8: Aug. 11th -15th

Week 9: Aug.18th - 22nd

Week 10: Aug 25th - 29th

Position Requirements

Requirements and Availability Needed:
  • Must attend staff training, date still TBD
  • Available Monday -Friday 8am-6pm for training
  • Be able to work a minimum of 8 weeks out of our 11-week summer camps
  • Minimum of one year of college education required or prior Bellevue Club Instructor experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience working with children in a camp, teaching, or coaching environment.
