My notes, JD: pay attention please:Cannot have a "DRY" personality. Like typical Devs. This is a new buyer at an established customer, and we need amazing candidates. We need bubbly, positive, upbeat, amazing, enthusiastic individuals. Real GO GETTERS.
The following seems to be a common client request: (not an Excel Consultants opinion) "We need somebody that is either an American or is extremely Americanized - we will be good to go."
This buyer is very conservative. Think Wall Street type old white guy, stock market trader from the 80's conservative
They are doing a modernization effort and redoing the looking field up their website and apps and that's why they need these people
Here's basically some bullet points of the absolute most important things and what their environment looks like:
Their typical stack is java and AWS technologies:
React - essentially frontend/UI experience using React Javascript -
- JS ES6
- Node JS AWS
- Lambda
- Kinesis
- EventBridge
- Sqs
- DynamoDB Event Driven/Design Patterns - using AWS services specifically that enable event driven architecture
it is at least one year long.
They also meet three times a year. For three days. It's called a campus connect week. Tuesday through Thursday. It is required.
(It gives them the opportunity to hang out with the entire team plus it gives us the opportunity to take the entire team out. It's good for everyone and when they do come in, everything is paid for their flight, their hotel, their car, their food.
- They will do a tech round - shared screen - real time coding - it will also be a "what steps did you take/are you taking and why are you taking them" during the tech round. This will be with an amazing, astute screener, so if they are full of BS they will not go forward.
- Then, a buyer meeting (mix of meet and greet where the candidate must convey expertise and great personality - sell themselves)
- Then a team-based final tech round.
