Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Android & API Architect to drive the design and development of enterprise-grade Android applications and robust Spring Boot APIs. This role is ideal for a hands-on architect with deep experience in mobile systems, backend integration, and enterprise infrastructure. You will lead technical strategy, mentor engineers, and play a key role in delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions across a mobile-first platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement scalable Android applications and Spring Boot APIs.
- Lead development for Zebra device-based barcode scanning apps with offline support and rugged device tuning.
- Design and optimize RESTful APIs integrating with SAP (OData, BAPI, RFC), Apigee, and Azure App Gateway.
- Manage Android OS upgrade cycles and MDM-based rollouts across enterprise environments.
- Oversee push notification architecture using FCM, including backoff strategies and queue management.
- Conduct performance monitoring and diagnostics using Dynatrace, Kibana, and Adobe Analytics.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to align mobile API strategy with enterprise cloud architecture.
- Produce high-quality documentation including UML diagrams, sequence flows, and architecture specs.
- Mentor developers and enforce best practices in mobile and backend development.
- Influence CI/CD pipeline improvements and mobile security standards.
sRequired Skills & Experience:
- Android Development: Kotlin, Java, Jetpack, custom views, memory management.
- Architecture: MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture.
- Backend: Spring Boot, API security, versioning, performance tuning.
- Push Notifications: FCM, retry strategies, message queues.
- Enterprise Integration: SAP services, Apigee, Azure App Gateway, Ping Identity.
- Diagnostics: Dynatrace, Kibana, Adobe Analytics.
- Database: SQLite, sync patterns, schema versioning.
- Device Expertise: Zebra devices, barcode libraries, rugged device optimization.
- Documentation: UML, sequence diagrams, architecture flows.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Certifications in Android, Spring, Azure, or enterprise architecture.
- Contributions to open-source Android or backend frameworks.
- Experience with hybrid cloud (AWS/GCP) or Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of enterprise mobile security patterns.
Education & Background :
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of senior -level experience in Android and backend API development.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $85.00/hr.
