Healthcare Research Analyst Role
Our Institutional Research Group seeks an experienced analyst to lead our Healthcare Services and Healthtech coverage and serve as a team lead for broader Healthcare and Life Sciences research. This role offers opportunities to develop management and analytical skills, gain industry insights, and contribute to our market-leading private capital research, valued by global investors, banks, and service providers. Our team is creative, driven, and focused on delivering actionable research.
Primary Responsibilities
- Drive healthcare coverage leveraging proprietary data on venture capital and private equity activity, trends, and innovation.
- Publish quarterly updates and industry-focused research using your knowledge of Healthcare Services and Healthtech.
- Lead and mentor a team of analysts covering various healthcare sectors, including biotech and medtech.
- Align healthcare research with company objectives and strategies.
- Develop team members through mentorship, editing, feedback, and resource provision.
- Maintain and improve research publication and distribution processes for scalability and efficiency.
- Initiate proprietary research projects, including data-set utilization or partnerships with data vendors.
- Represent PitchBook research externally at conferences, webinars, and client interactions, and liaise internally with research, sales, marketing, PR, and product teams.
- Support company values through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.
- Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested.
Skills and Qualifications
- 7+ years of research experience in equity research, investment banking, venture capital, or related financial services.
- 3+ years of team management or leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a health-related field; strong understanding of valuation techniques, IRRs, asset allocations, benchmarks, KPIs.
- Proven leadership and a desire to develop new products/services in an emerging industry.
- Strong knowledge of Healthcare Services, Healthcare IT, and the broader healthcare ecosystem.
- Experience in writing investment research and engaging with clients on investment opportunities.
- Interest and understanding of venture capital, growth equity, and emerging technologies.
- Attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL and PitchBook platform is a plus.
