Right now we are building our future atBarnsley. A new and excellent career opportunity has arisen for a highlymotivated qualified ACP to lead and further develop our team of AdvancedPractitioners within the Emergency Department and Acute Medicine (inc SDECs)at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
We are currently undergoing an expansion of our ACPworkforce and looking for a driven, enthusiastic, dynamic, highly experiencedACP to lead and line manage our existing, newly formed and expanding team.
The postholder will have a demonstrable clinical portfolio that evidences clinicalskills equivalent to that of a senior clinical member of staff. Their clinicalrole will involve the independent and autonomous practice of history taking,clinical examination, clinical investigations and interpretation andsubsequently the diagnosis and management planning of the differentiated anddiagnosed patient as well as the undifferentiated and undiagnosed emergency andurgent care patient.
Thesuccessful applicant with be an established leader able to demonstrate successin service design and delivery.
They willalready be at Advance Clinicalpractitioner level in an established service. The successful applicantmust have completed a full MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and haveconsolidated fully academically and clinically. They must also have or bewilling to complete Royal College of Emergency Medicine credentialing.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for line management of the ACP Teams which includes delivering yearly appraisal and Clinical Academic Support Panel.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the leadership and strategic development, across the Emergency Department and Acute Medicine (inclusive of SDECs) and line management of advanced (ACP) practice staff, both trainees and qualified, as well as supporting educational supervisors and engaging directly with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) for the delivery of academic modules.
The successful applicant must have an in-depth understanding of the advanced practice apprenticeship. They must also engage fully with Health Education England and support any future relevant curriculums and credentials that are released. They must also be heavily involved in service development of all areas within the specialty concentrating around patient safety, experience, efficiency and effectiveness aspects involving care.
The successful applicant will engage fully with the Trust Professional Lead ACP and colleague advanced practitioners across the trust and sit on the Countywide Faculty for Enhanced and Advanced Practice (FEAP).

Person Specification Qualifications
- NMC Registered nurse OR HCPC Registered Paramedic OR Physiotherapist OR ODP.
- Full MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
- Non-medical prescriber (v300).
- Clear and continued evidence of CPD.
- Teaching/assessing qualification.
- ALS provider.
- ALS instructor.
- Evidence of completion of clinical ACAT or equivalent to work at senior MG level in Immediate or Urgent or Emergency Care.
- Complete portfolio displaying history taking, clinical examination, investigation and autonomous clinical decision making competence in relevant clinical setting at consultant ACP level (senior MG) Willing to compete relevant Royal College or national ACP curriculum when released and credential.
- EPALS/APLS/ETC/ATLS.
- IRMER trained.
- PhD or willing to undertake in the future.
