Job Purpose
To operate and maintain laser cutting machine to meet our product specifications and timelines.
Key Job Responsibilities: -
- Set up, operate, and maintain laser cutting machine to create parts using different metals and thicknesses.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct functions.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet production specifications.
- Report any machine malfunctions or issues promptly.
- Follow safety regulations and maintaining clean and safe work area.
- Perform routine machine maintenance.
- Collaborate with designers and engineers about material selection and design to ensure efficient production.
- Maintaining a high level of housekeeping.
Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience
Essential: -
- Technical knowledge and understanding of laser cutting machines, including their operations and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and rectify potential issues with the machine or the cutting process.
- Physical abilities to handle metals and stand for long periods, however a sophisticated manual handling equipment is provided for lifting of the steel sheets.
- Accuracy and attention to detail to ensure precision in cutting and minimize wastage of materials.
- Basic computer skills for operating computer-controlled machines and performing tasks like programming and adjusting machine settings.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Experience in using measurement tools like callipers for accurate measurements of products.
Desirable: -
- Laser machine operator experience: 2 years (preferred)
