Position Objective - Design Consultant: The primary objective of the Design Consultant is to engage with our customers to offer them solutions in completing their design and installation projects. This may include some or all of design, consultation, guidance, estimating, project management and/or other services that the company may offer.
The responsibilities of the Design Consultant are:
- It is expected that the Design Consultant will help increase sales.
- Help customers with landscape solutions. Make sure every customer is met and greeted with a smile and ask if we can help them.
- Escorting customers throughout the yard, making suggestions and listening intently, and with care, to what they are looking for and concerned about.
- Providing information on products, including how to care for product, watering and sun needs and any other information that will assist in educating the customer on the product or products they are purchasing.
- Help customer make selections by building customer confidence, offering suggestions and opinions and educating the customers.
- Conducting complimentary consultations on customer properties to better educate them on their landscape
- Offer design services and recommendations to customers
- Answer the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner making your best attempt to answer questions and solve problems.
- Become proficient in our POS system and with our digital design software including preparing sales receipts and invoices, as necessary. One of our company goals is to get customers in and out as quickly, simply, and easily as possible.
- Support the sales manager or General Manager as /heshe works with regular landscape customers to establish long-term mutually beneficial relationships that allow LLS to adapt to changing customer needs.
- Pull and tag materials for customers/jobs and push plants into inventory after receiving them.
- Assist in ordering materials for some projects.
- Manage project installations and coordinate details with store management teams.
- Collect deposits and payments from customers.
- Manage and fix concerns, deficiencies, faulty or incomplete work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Hourly Expectations:
Typically, the Design Consultant position is Monday-Friday, although some exceptions may occur due to weather, customer needs or other situations. Hourly Design Consultants will arrange their schedule with their manager and will typically work 40-45 hours per week, although there will be weeks that fall outside of this range. Salaried Design Consultants will typically work 45-50 hours per week and start and end times will be determined by the manager.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
