Salary/Position Classification

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & ResponsibilitiesThere are two levels of Landscaping positions available. The interview assessment will determine the establishment of either a Temp I or a Temp II Landscape worker.

TEMP I Landscape Assistant Duties & Responsibilities -LESS THAN 20 HRS/WEEK

  • Assist redoing landscapes around campus
  • Assist in cleaning sidewalks and streets
  • Shoveling Snow
  • Hand Sanding
  • Walk behind Snow blowing
  • Walk behind Snow Sweeping
  • Other duties as assigned

TEMP II Landscape Assistant Duties & Responsibilities (MUST BE 18 YRS AND MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 20 HRS/WEEK.

  • Working with staff to redo landscapes around campus
  • Experience in operating equipment to clean sidewalks and streets such as Bobcat skid steers, ToolCats and small articulating front-end loaders
  • On call for snow removal/storm clean up and willing to assist in supervision of crew response
  • Experience running equipment for large scale snow removal and landscape equipment
  • Picking up garbage and branches
  • Shoveling Snow
  • Hand Sanding
  • Walk behind Snow blowing
  • Walk behind Snow Sweeping
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Willing to work in an outdoor environment in inclement weather
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds frequently and without restrictions
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience in operation of tractors, large front-end loaders, or forklifts
  • CDL license
