Title: Instrumentation Technician/Facilities Lab Coordinator
Location: New Haven, CT
Duration: 03+ months with possibility of extension
Job Description:
This key role will perform light building, and equipment, maintenance, liaise with employees and vendors, prepare for on- and off-site events, support environmental, health, safety, shipping, receiving, and waste management efforts, among other varied tasks.
The Facilities Lab Technician will be a Backup to the Facilities Manager for all key operating systems and will work to ensure that facility and laboratory operations run safely and smoothly while being efficient and cost-effective.
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position. Typical working schedule will be Monday-Friday; however, occasional weekend/after-hours work may be required as driven by business need.
This position reports to the Facilities Supervisor and will be located at headquarters in New Haven, CT.
Principal Responsibilities
- High level of computer skills with Data entry.

- Equipment monitoring, Asset management systems
- Maintenance and repair of building and lab-based equipment
- Conducts and/or assists in troubleshooting, repairs (corrective maintenance) and preventative maintenance of process equipment, building support systems, utility systems, automation systems, and laboratory systems
- Complete costumer work requests as assigned and Perform general shipping and receiving duties when required
- Constructively, collaboratively, and professionally interact with peers, company leadership, vendors, and visitors.
- Manage and execute office/laboratory moves, respond to employee requests, assist in space-planning efforts, and maintain accurate records
- Works to limit any interruptions, disruptions, or losses arising from unscheduled downtime of client services. Systems operations and maintenance must be safe, reliable, and cost-effective.
- Attends all mandatory safety training and maintains a safe work environment by following OSHA/IACUC/etc. guidelines, relevant GxP regulations, and all facility safety policies and procedures.
- May assist in designing and drafting facility-related SOPs. Takes prompt action to correct conditions found to be out of compliance or unsafe.
- General laboratory maintenance, Cleaning water baths, Defrosting freezers, Refilling carboys
- Stocking consumables (flasks, pipette tips, tubes, etc.), Monitor and change out high pressure lab gases, Emptying vacuum flasks, Monitoring equipment, Laboratory stock room management
- Organizing laboratory stock room, taking inventory and ordering items that are low, Stocking ordered items, Laboratory stock room management

Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of in a building services/operations role in a pharmaceutical environment required
- Strong computer skills are required, implementation and operation of computerized systems used by Facilities to perform their daily duties is essential
- Experience in Data entry and is required
- facility maintenance experience is preferable.
- Self-Starter, work with minimal direction
- Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Laboratory/Vivarium-related experience required; knowledge of GxP standards is a plus.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required, to facilitate interactions with diverse group of internal and external stakeholders (including employees, senior leadership, external vendors, etc.)
- Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
- Must be willing to work overtime to include starting work early or staying late past scheduled work hours based on business needs, if required.
- Must be willing to work some weekends/company holidays based on a relevant business need, if required.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Must be able to work using respirator
Education
- High school diploma from an accredited school.
- Vocational/trade school training is a plus
