A private medical technologies company, Perosphere is focused on development and commercialization of the novel PoC (point-of-care) Coagulometer, which informs diagnosis, treatment, and prevention through precision data, made immediately accessible to all. It is the only point-of-care (POC) diagnostic tool that effectively and swiftly tests clotting times across drug classes, including Direct Oral Anticoagulants (DOACs). Operations Technician
Perosphere Technologies is currently seeking an Operations Technician to work at our Danbury, CT site. In this role, you will perform, among other duties, inspection, testing, inventory, and validation of products included in the (PoC) coagulometer system - namely, the single use cuvettes and whole-blood controls. This role will also encompass training of end users and other partners on operation of the Point-of-Care (PoC) coagulometer system. As such, domestic and international travel up to 20% of the time is required.
What You'll Do:
- Perform inspection, laboratory testing, validation, and transfer/re-packaging of incoming products for (PoC) coagulometer system
- Maintain detailed records/inventory of incoming products, as well as product already on-site in compliance with QMS requirements.
- Assist with preparation and shipment of commercial and R&D product orders (domestic and international), including packaging, documentation, and coordination with carriers
- Support inventory management activities, including quarantine management, physical counts, and system updates
- Help maintain compliance within Perosphere's Quality Management System (QMS), including documentation of deviations, non-conformances, and CAPA activities
- Ability to perform basic root cause analysis (RCA) investigations
- Summarize and analyze results and draft reports to capture research/testing results
- Present data to internal teams and upper management
- Perform product training on coagulometer and whole-blood control use to partner and end customers, if necessary
- Prepare for internal and regulatory audits or inspection
- Adapt to new systems and processes as Perosphere continues to grow
- Author and/or collaborate on new written procedures, work instructions, etc. to reflect new or changing processes
- Travel domestically or internationally to end users (ie hospitals, clinics, etc.) for training and support, when needed
- Travel to other company sites to perform testing or validation of products
About You:
- 2-5 year's experience in quality control, inspection, or laboratory testing in the medical device or pharmaceutical industries
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to documentation accuracy, and a high standard of compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across Operations, Manufacturing, and R&D teams
- Above-average MS Excel skills
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, or pharmaceutical sciences, or related field
- Comfortable working with inventory management systems and maintaining organized electronic records
- Solid analytical laboratory skills and familiarity with laboratory equipment
- Teamwork-oriented mindset with the ability to follow instructions and procedures; capability to independently complete forms and submit paperwork
- Ability to work reliably and independently, prioritize tasks, and proactively solve problems
- Flexibility to travel domestic or international travel (20% of the time)
- Basic familiarity with hematology and coagulation is a plus
- Willingness to pitch in on a wide variety of tasks - from day-to-day operations to high-level customer support activities
