Laboratory Technician - Precision Genomics (2nd Shift)

Location: Chesterfield, MO

Shift: Monday - Friday, 2nd Shift (Approximately 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM)

We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician for the Precision Genomics Targeted Library Creation team. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic production environment supporting cutting-edge genetic research and development in agriculture.

Pay: The anticipated wage for this position is between $31 and $35 per hour. Hourly wage depends upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology/molecular biology/biochemistry or similar
  • Experience supporting high-throughput laboratory operations
  • Ability to perform both manual and automated laboratory processes
  • Familiarity with genotyping workflows and genome editing techniques
  • Mechanical or technical aptitude to work with automated lab equipment
  • Previous experience in laboratory, biotech, or similar technical settings (academic or professional)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual library creation for SKIM Sequencing and Sequence Capture workflows
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab automation and equipment
  • Process high volumes of samples using LIMS and other data tracking systems
  • Participate in lab health, maintenance, and preventative care activities

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience in high-throughput environments such as labs
  • Mechanical or automation aptitude; ability to independently troubleshoot lab instruments
  • Familiarity with LIMS or automated laboratory equipment
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Work Environment:

You will be part of a collaborative team of about 45 professionals working across multiple shifts. The culture is supportive, fast-paced, and goal-oriented, with a casual yet focused atmosphere. Contractors make up about 40% of the team, and strong communication between shifts is a key component of success.
