will be doing tasks such as: dispensing using a pipette, centrifuging blood (not human blood), logistical tasks - shipping/receiving, communicating with the team, must have good computer skills and communication skills - excellent communication skills if possible as they will need to give updates and work with the sales team through email/phone if necessary, highly organized
SUMMARY: The Senior R&D Technician is a highly skilled technical role responsible for completing tasks related to product research and development, such as prototyping new bench top models, or processes in collaboration with R&D engineers, Marketing, and cross-functional teams involved in transitioning products from ideation to manufacturing. This individual is resourceful, demonstrates a high degree of initiative and independence, good communication and organizational skills. As well as excels at turning abstract concepts into tangible product components through their expertise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Participate in the design and development of a new blood clot making process, building fixture prototypes (including rapid prototyping). Required to independently test new designs, ideas and processes related to blood clot making process.
• Collaborate with engineers to understand blood clot requirements/feedback from marketing/sales, and frequently participate in brainstorming sessions, suggesting new ideas and improvements related to blood clot requirements, and design & process.
• Must be meticulous and possess good analytical skills including pipetting/dispensing accurately and documenting all data/results to ensure exact amounts were properly dispensed.
• Assist in the development of blood clot making procedures/work instructions including redlining current WI, performing in-vitro/bench tests and documenting results.
• Must possess good computer skills and communication skills, required to be proficient on MS Excel, MS outlook/emails.
• Document relevant information (i.e. new idea, test results, build procedure, etc.) according to good laboratory practices or company procedures.
• Participate in assisting engineers in vendor search and initiate orders based on specifications.
• Required to train others on best manufacturing practices and collaborate with team in development.
• Support the building of blood clots, and other related items used for preclinical & clinical evaluations.
• Conduct design/process qualification builds, test according to protocol, and document results.
• Actively promote and support the Quality Management System, Quality Objectives, and Quality Policy.
• Assure that you and functional subordinates (if applicable) are trained on all applicable procedures and processes according to Good Manufacturing Practices, applicable FDA, and Regulatory requirements.
• Actively promote and support the company's Management Review process.
• Inform responsible personnel of concerns involving product quality.
• Perform job functions in a safe and effective manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of 4 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Should possess computer skills, math and communication (email/phone calls and presenting updates/ideas in meetings)
• Familiar operating R&D equipment (pipette, scales, centrifuge, adhesives).
• Preferably knowledge of materials (Blood, Polymers, Metals, Chemicals) as it relates to medical devices.
