Job Summary:
This is an entry-level position in a commercial laboratory. Laboratory technicians are responsible for the accurate logging, proofing, and analysis of samples. They work with multiple team members to ensure samples are processed correctly and engage in multiple quality control procedures with high attention to detail, working in different areas of the laboratory depending on daily sample load.

Responsibilities:

• Perform optical microscopies by viewing filter membranes through a microscope and performing a manual count of particulates

• Enter high volume of customer account and sample data by inputting text-based and numerical information from source documents within time limits and error rate metrics

• Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct incompatibilities, and check output

• Weigh customer samples on an analytical balance

• Perform daily equipment calibrations and/or verifications

• Prepare and load customer samples onto the GC-MS

• Maintain critical attention to detail and procedure adherence to prevent mistakes that may affect analysis results

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent degree

• 2+ years of relevant work experience in a laboratory setting.

• Trustworthy attention to detail

• Comfort performing repetitive precision work

• Skilled pattern recognition

• Ability and desire to perform hands-on, repetitive tasks, as well as computer-based data entry and proofing

• Ability to adapt and problem solve

• Comfort telling people when something is wrong

• Ability to follow policies and procedures of a laboratory environment: quality policies, cleanliness, accuracy, etc.

Preferences:

• High computer literacy.

• Proficiency in English.

• Scientific degree a plus but not required

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
This position will be based at our site in Dripping Spring, TX no travel.
