Back Half:
Wed - Sat - 1st shift: 6am - 4:30
Wed - Sat - 2nd shift: 5pm - 3:30am
Amazon Kuiper is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Test/Support Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems used in various applications such as aerospace, telecommunications, medical devices, or industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and conduct tests on optical and laser systems according to established protocols and specifications
- Calibrate and maintain testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Identify and diagnose issues in optical and laser systems
- Assist in the development and improvement of testing procedures
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve technical problems
- Maintain accurate records of test results, equipment maintenance, and calibration
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures when working with lasers and optical equipment
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in using various test equipment such as optical power meters, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Photonics, Laser Technology, Electronics, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience working with optical and laser systems
- Strong understanding of optics, photonics, and laser principles
- Certification in laser safety
- Experience with fiber optic systems
- Familiarity with quality control processes and standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
- Knowledge of data analysis software and basic programming skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Visual acuity to work with small components and read detailed measurements
- Manual dexterity for handling delicate optical components
Work Environment:
- Clean room or laboratory setting
