Position: Lab Assistant - Quality Control
Location: San Diego, CA.
Contract W2: 6-month contract with possible extensions
Schedule: Monday - Friday Start Time: 7:00 AM or 7:30 AM 100% Onsite
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $23.00/hr. + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
Position Summary:
BEPC Inc. is actively seeking a Lab Assistant to support the Quality Control (QC) Scientific Diagnostics (SD) department. This is a hands-on role focused on laboratory cleanliness, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and routine lab support in a cGMP environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and physically capable of lifting or pushing up to 50 pounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain QC material inventory and perform cycle counts
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, glassware, and supplies
- Perform and track routine equipment maintenance (e.g., water baths, incubators, refrigerators)
- Support instrument maintenance (e.g., Tigris, Panther, Fusion systems)
- Assist with sample pickup and proper transaction documentation
- Handle rack and glass washing and general laboratory organization
- Submit equipment for calibration and manage calibration schedules (e.g., pipettes, timers, thermometers)
- Prepare and manage documentation and records in the document management system
- Complete all training requirements and adhere to Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- May train in QC testing methods to provide additional support to QC teams
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 0-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting
- Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow cGMP standards and laboratory protocols
- Must be able to lift or push up to 50 pounds
