About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Labor & Employment Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. This role focuses primarily on defense-side litigation involving complex employment matters. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 15 years of litigation experience with a strong background in defending against wrongful termination, discrimination claims, PAGA class actions, and related employment disputes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent employers in labor and employment litigation, including single-plaintiff and class action cases.
- Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Provide strategic legal counsel to clients on employment-related matters and litigation risks.
- Conduct legal research and draft persuasive motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Engage in settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitration when appropriate.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice and in good standing with the State Bar of Insert State .
- 5-15 years of experience in labor and employment litigation, preferably on the defense side.
- Demonstrated experience handling wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, and PAGA claims.
- Strong oral advocacy, litigation strategy, and writing skills.
- Ability to manage cases independently and efficiently while collaborating with a team.
Preferred:
- Trial experience is a plus.
- Experience with class action defense or PAGA representative actions is strongly preferred.
