Our client combines the resources of a large national practice with the collaborative, personalized approach of a boutique firm to provide comprehensive legal services to a variety of businesses and individuals. The firm is seeking an attorney with 4+ years of labor and employment defense experience in a similar firm setting. Interested candidates should have excellent academic credentials, knowledge of State and Federal fair employment laws, wage & hour laws, FMLA, and experience autonomously managing cases throughout the litigation process. Core job responsibilities include:
- Defend employers in wage and hour claims (individual and class/collective actions)
- Handle PAGA representative actions through all stages of litigation
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and dispositive motions
- Take/defend depositions
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex employment law issues
- Lead workplace investigations into allegations of misconduct
- Counsel HR professionals and executive leaders on employment policies
- Analyze and summarize employment records, policies, and handbooks
- Monitor relevant regulatory changes in labor and employment law
We are seeking an attorney with excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills and an ability/desire to autonomously manage complex cases, including attending hearings, drafting motions in federal and state court, and working up a case for trial.
