The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse will work in a large, fast paced women and children s services department that sees over 4,000 annual births and is home a 15+ bed labor delivery unit with 3 operating rooms LDOR, along with multiple triage rooms, a 40+ bed mother baby postpartum unit, and 25+ bed NICU. Responsibilities of the Labor & Delivery RN will include assessing, evaluating, monitoring, and treating patients in the Labor Delivery department. Additionally, the LD Registered Nurse will serve as an educational resource for the patients, their families, and new-hire department staff. Working alongside a team of highly specialized RN and LPN nurses, technicians, and ancillary staff allows the RN to cross collaborate with multidisciplinary teams when developing individualized patient care treatment plans.
Ideally, the Labor Delivery nurse will hold or be willing to obtain their Virginia or compact multi-state registered nurses license, and have previous, recent direct patient care experience working in a Labor & Delivery unit
