This role involves case management, document preparation, legal research, discovery coordination, and assisting attorneys with depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in case management, including organizing and maintaining legal documents, pleadings, and discovery materials.
  • Prepare legal filings, trial exhibits, summaries, and case chronologies.
  • Conduct factual investigations, gather case-related documentation, and communicate with clients and outside counsel.
  • Support attorneys in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials by preparing case materials.
  • Track critical deadlines and maintain case schedules, ensuring attorneys are informed of upcoming dates.
  • Perform legal research using platforms such as Westlaw and Lexis.
  • Manage and organize electronically stored information (ESI) and large document productions using document management software.
  • Review, redact, and produce documents, applying Bates labels and ensuring proper case documentation.
  • Assist in drafting and revising legal documents, contracts, and workplace policies.
  • Log billable hours and ensure compliance with client billing requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience as a labor and employment paralegal in a law firm
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of employment law, litigation procedures, and case management.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, and e-discovery platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
