This role involves case management, document preparation, legal research, discovery coordination, and assisting attorneys with depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in case management, including organizing and maintaining legal documents, pleadings, and discovery materials.
- Prepare legal filings, trial exhibits, summaries, and case chronologies.
- Conduct factual investigations, gather case-related documentation, and communicate with clients and outside counsel.
- Support attorneys in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials by preparing case materials.
- Track critical deadlines and maintain case schedules, ensuring attorneys are informed of upcoming dates.
- Perform legal research using platforms such as Westlaw and Lexis.
- Manage and organize electronically stored information (ESI) and large document productions using document management software.
- Review, redact, and produce documents, applying Bates labels and ensuring proper case documentation.
- Assist in drafting and revising legal documents, contracts, and workplace policies.
- Log billable hours and ensure compliance with client billing requirements.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience as a labor and employment paralegal in a law firm
- Skills: Strong knowledge of employment law, litigation procedures, and case management.
- Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, and e-discovery platforms.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
