Partnering with a one of the largest, longest-standing firms in Wisconsin seeking a skilled and experienced Labor and Employment Attorney to join their legal team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a proven track record of handling complex legal issues and providing strategic counsel to clients. This position can be filled in either their Madison or Greater Milwaukee office.


Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, severance agreements, and other employment-related documents, including executive employment agreements and executive compensation arrangements.
  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including employee relations, workplace investigations, discrimination claims, wage and hour disputes, and compliance with labor laws and union negotiations.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment and labor laws and best practices.
  • Provide training and guidance to HR professionals and management on labor and employment issues and union relations.
  • Conduct internal investigations into complaints of workplace misconduct or violations of employment and labor laws.
  • Participate in or advise on collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to deliver comprehensive legal services to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • 5-7 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
