Job Summary Support a mission-critical role that ensures the integrity and security of our laboratory environment. This position requires top-tier skills in system administration, network management, and user support. You will aid in the rapid detection and mitigation of security incidents while advancing infrastructure solutions. Your role will directly contribute to tactical and strategic decision-making.
Eligibility Requirements Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI preferred
Suitability: DHS Suitability is required prior to employment
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in system administration
Core Responsibilities IncidentResponse & Mitigation: Conduct investigations to assess breach severity and develop effective mitigation strategies for prompt service restoration.
Infrastructure Management: Implement and support new technologies and hardware within the lab to meet evolving operational needs.
Network Security & Optimization: Assess network topology and configurations, identify critical security vulnerabilities, and recommend best practices.
Policy Development: Provide expert insights for developing lab Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and security policies.
VPN & VDI Support: Assist users with VPN (Virtual Private Network) or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, including Citrix and VMware.
Technical Support: Deliver MacOS and iOS support; troubleshoot intermediate technical challenges via IT helpdesk.
Access Control & System Monitoring: Manage user accounts, implement granular access control, and monitor systems for optimal performance and accessibility.
Data Storage Management: Diagnose and resolve complex storage issues, monitor for network disruptions, and implement adequate storage and replication strategies across local and WAN networks.
Required Skills & Competencies Operating Systems Proficiency: Experience with Linux/Unix, MacOS
Network Administration: Proven skills in network management and security best practices
VPN & VDI Expertise: In-depth knowledge of VPNs and virtual desktop environments (e.g., Citrix, VMware)
Collaboration Across Locations: Ability to coordinate with teams across multiple physical sites
Educational Background Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
>Alternatively, a High School Diploma with 7+ years of lab management or systems administration experience
Preferred Skills & Certifications SIEM Tools: Proficiency in ELK and Splunk
Automation & Optimization: Hands-on experience with virtualization automation
Apple Ecosystem Management: Knowledge of Jamf Pro, DEP, and Enterprise Connect
Technical Documentation: Skilled in drafting technical SOPs
Preferred Certifications - Security & Networking: CEH, Security+, Network+, CCNA
