Lab Engineer

Job Description:

This opportunity is for a Lab Support Technician/Engineer in the Electronics Component Division. In this role, the candidate will provide test lab support for Telematics onboard system and software development. The candidate will be responsible of setting up and maintaining multiple testing benches to enable functional, performance and endurance testing of Telematics onboard software. A test bench typically includes Network Manager Electronic Control Module (ECM), Radio ECM, CANoe, Communication Adapter, relay board, and various software-based simulation and development tools. The candidate will also be responsible for building customized harnesses and relay board according to the specifications provided by the Telematics system and software engineers. In addition, the candidate may also be responsible of tracking various software validation tools, analyzing field returns and perform Telematics software testing according to the test plan.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required with 10+ years of technical experience, OR a 2-year associates degree in Electronics Technology, Software Engineering Technology (or similar) or a related field, and 2-4 years of work experience.

Previous electrical or electronic lab support experience is a plus. Prior software script development knowledge through work experience and/or school education will be a plus.

Requires basic skills to troubleshoot and fix electrical and electronic test benches, such as using multimeters and scopes, making harnesses, soldering components, and using schematics to trace design. Required skills also include basic documentation tasks using Microsoft products.

Preferred skills include knowledge of GPS, J1939/CAN and Ethernet. Software development knowledge using script is also desirable.

This is a 1st shift, onsite position in Peoria, IL.
