Position InformationDr. Na Yeon Kim is seeking a full-time Lab Assistant to begin in Summer 2025. The duration for the position is one year with the opportunity for renewal based on funding, department needs, and performance. Her laboratory (Attention and Neurodevelopment Lab; Department of Psychology) will launch in July 2025 and investigate how we perceive and pay attention to our surroundings and how these processes differ across individuals-particularly those with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism.
As the lab's inaugural member, the Lab Assistant will play a key role in establishing and maintaining effective lab operations. This position is especially well-suited for individuals planning to pursue a PhD or MD in the future, as it offers extensive training in research design, data collection, and data analysis, as well as experience interviewing and working with clinical populations.
The full salary range for the Lab Assistant is $20.01 - $23.16 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Education Education Requirements- Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field (Preferred)
Experience Requirements- Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience or two years of college courses in the natural, physical or social sciences and laboratory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. (Required)
- Undergraduate level statistics course and experience with statistical analysis packages (e.g. Matlab, SPSS, R, Excel, etc.) (Preferred)
- Experience conducting independent research in psychology. (Preferred)
- Experience collecting and/or analyzing data from human participants. (Preferred)
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other neurodevelopmental conditions. (Preferred)
