Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer in Fort Wayne, IN to support a growing missile warning/missile defense business. The ideal candidate for this position will be familiar with the design, development, integration, and testing of remote sensing payloads and the modeling/simulation thereof.
L3Harris is looking for Systems Engineers to help design the next generation of space systems as well as improve current on orbit systems.
Essential Functions:
- Lead/support performance analysis for space-based remote sensors
- Lead/support systems engineering trade studies, CONOP development, and modeling/simulation efforts
- Develop and improve instrument documentation, processes, and test procedures
- Lead/support requirements analysis, decomposition, and generation at various levels of the system
- Lead/support requirements traceability and development of test plans to cover requirements
- Lead/support integration and test of electro-optical/infrared systems and related hardware/software
- Provide support to engineering in developing technical specifications, interface control documents, test plans and procedures, and test conformance to specifications
- Support engineering in the verification of compliance to requirements and validate performance behavior
- Utilize work experience to become Subject Matter Expert in the relative area
- Obtain and maintain security clearance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active secret security clearance or higher
- Experience with software development language(s), such as C/C or Python
- Experience as part of a multi-discipline technical team
- Inter-personal and communication skills, ability to interact with a cross functional team
