Duties include addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, verifying, and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products. The successful candidate will perform day-to-day administrative tasks, such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. JOB DUTIES Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment, such as verifying information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Periodically prepares reports for management. Attach shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Overall responsibility for appropriate movement of goods throughout the facility while maintaining a neat and well-organized work area. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Qualifications EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or GED required. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) One (1) or more years' experience highly desired. Knowledge and experience using Lean Manufacturing principles preferred. Ability to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks be familiar with and able to interpret packing slips; with accuracy, enter information into the computer; to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database. Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the freight carriers. Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements. Additional Information PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Standing for extended periods of time, walking throughout the facility, ability to lift 50lbs as required. Work Environment Exposed to elements, such as cold, heat, noise, dust, odors, fumes, etc. Work time is spent on the manufacturing floor and in a managerial office.
