JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Kitchen Cook

REPORTS TO: Food Service Supervisor

SUMMARY:

Wa He Lut Indian School is seeking a skilled and experienced Kitchen Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for students in a safe and sanitary manner. This is a full-time position, serving breakfast and lunch for the students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Prepare and cook meals for students according to established recipes and menus

- Ensure that all food is prepared and served in a safe and sanitary manner, following proper food handling and storage procedures

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including equipment and utensils

- Follow all dietary restrictions and requirements for students

- Communicate effectively with kitchen supervisor and administration

- Must fill in for food service supervisor if necessary, and be able to fulfill those duties.

- Other duties as assigned by the food service director

REQUIREMENTS:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment

- Knowledge of proper food handling and storage procedures

- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time

- Must have or be able to obtain a food handler's permit, within 30 days of employment

- Must pass state and federal background checks.

SALARY: DOE: 38,000 - 40,000
