Roles and Responsibilities
- Work effectively with the kitchen team and comply with company procedures and food safety policies.
- Prepare workstation with required ingredients and equipment while keeping station sanitary and organized throughout shifts.
- Prepare ingredients following recipes and guidelines.
- Steam, bake, and complete other basic cooking responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensure ingredients are labeled, date-stamped, sealed, stored, and rotated regularly.
- Become familiar with SOP manual and Policies & Procedures.
- Routinely clean the kitchen area and keep equipment and utensils clean and sanitary.
- Oversee food levels and restock items on time.
- Remove trash as necessary.
- Assist with in-home deliveries as needed.
- Work at farmers' markets and other local events.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or suitable alternative.
- Successfully complete Servsafe training and exam (provided by Café Baby).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Excellent understanding of food preparation fundamentals.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions.
- Sound understanding of food allergies and foodborne illnesses.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Available to work at least 15 hours per week.
- Team player.
- Ability to effectively listen to, assist and provide product recommendations to parents/caregivers who are seeking guidance and recommendations from Café Baby at the store and events.
- Hourly rate of $12.00 during training. Upon completion of training, a new rate will be negotiated.
