Description
The Greater Gallatin United Way Afterschool Program Aide will provide valuable support to the Afterschool Program Coordinator in maintaining safety procedures, cleanliness standards, managing equipment, interacting with children and their families, and assisting with daily program activities. This role requires familiarity with educational procedures and systems and a commitment to uphold the guidelines and standards set by the Greater Gallatin United Way.

Responsibilities:

• Help facilitate a safe and enriching environment for the afterschool children that attend the program.

• Assist the Afterschool Program Coordinator in maintaining a disciplinary standard equitable for all students.

• Assist the Afterschool Program Coordinator in maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the program area, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized environment.

• Collaborate with the coordinator to manage program equipment, including setup, organization, and storage, to ensure smooth operations.

• Interact with families daily, offering friendly and helpful assistance, providing updates, and addressing any questions or concerns.

• Gain a good understanding of the computer programs and systems utilized by the program, using them proficiently to support program operations and record-keeping.

• Support the implementation of daily activities, following the guidance and direction provided by the Afterschool Program Coordinator.

• Attend all scheduled required trainings provided by the Greater Gallatin United Way to enhance professional development and stay updated on program requirements.

• Uphold the guidelines and standards provided by the Greater Gallatin United Way, following policies and procedures to ensure program compliance and maintain program quality.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in an afterschool program, or a similar setting is an asset.

• Ability to maintain cleanliness standards and attention to detail in managing program equipment.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with families and program participants.

• Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn and navigate software systems used in the program.

• Willingness to assist with daily program activities directed by the Afterschool Program Coordinator.

• Commitment to attend scheduled mandatory training provided by the Greater Gallatin United Way.

• Familiarity with the guidelines and standards set by the Greater Gallatin United Way, or the ability to quickly learn and adhere to them.

Compensation

Description
The Greater Gallatin United Way KidsLINK Afterschool Program Specialist will work closely with the Afterschool Program Coordinator to support the daily operations and activities of the afterschool program to ensure a safe and fun environment for the afterschool students. This role involves assisting with maintaining safety procedures, managing equipment, interacting with families, and implementing program activities based on the coordinator's curriculum guide and daily schedule. The specialist will also attend mandatory training provided by the Greater Gallatin United Way and ensure compliance with their guidelines and standards.

  1. KidsLINK Afterschool Program Coordinator at Greater Gallatin United Way - Seasonal
The KidsLINK Afterschool Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, safety and activities of the afterschool program to ensure a safe and fun environment for the afterschool students. This position requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to effectively manage staff, interact with families, and ensure the effective execution of the program. The coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining communication with the Greater Gallatin United Way and upholding guidelines and standards.

• Facilitate a safe and enriching environment for the afterschool children that attend the program.

• Take attendance every day to ensure accurate records of program participants.

• Manage a team of staff members, including scheduling, training, and performance management.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for staff, addressing their concerns, providing guidance, and ensuring effective communication.

• Act as the main point of contact for families, addressing inquiries, providing program updates, and resolving any concerns.

• Manage and maintain the Enrolzy software, Cayen software, and phones used in the program for effective communication and record-keeping.

• Coordinate the procurement and organization of activity supplies to ensure engaging and varied daily activities for program participants.

• Coordinate the procurement and distribution of snack supplies, ensuring nutritional requirements and dietary restrictions are considered.

• Plan daily activities based on the Curriculum guide, ensuring age-appropriate and educational content for program participants.

• Implement the kidsLINK disciplinary system, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the program, including scheduling, program logistics, and resolving any issues that may arise.

• Manage staff hours, ensuring proper coverage and adherence to employment policies and regulations.

• Attend all scheduled required training courses provided by the Greater Gallatin United Way to stay updated on best practices and program requirements.

• Uphold guidelines and standards provided by the Greater Gallatin United Way to ensure compliance and program quality.

• Maintain building cleanliness standards and manage program equipment, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment.

• Share stories and pictures of the program with the Greater Gallatin United Way to showcase program activities and impact.

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in education, child development, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience working in an afterschool program or a similar setting.
