Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our coaching staff as a J.V Assistant Football Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of football fundamentals, a commitment to student-athlete development, and the ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other staff members. This seasonal position offers an opportunity to inspire young athletes and contribute to a positive team culture.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions.
- Provide instruction and support to student-athletes in skill development, game strategy, and sportsmanship.
- Help in the preparation and organization of game day activities, including warm-ups, play-calling, and team logistics.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills and understanding of the game.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment, promoting teamwork, respect, and discipline among players.
- Collaborate with other coaching staff to develop and implement effective training programs and game plans.
- Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team-related matters.
- Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the football program.
- Ensure compliance with all school and athletic department policies, as well as state and national regulations governing high school athletics.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or higher, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required by practice and game schedules.
- A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to transport athletes as needed.
- A background check and completion of any required training or certifications mandated by the school or district.
