As a Football Junior Varsity Assistant Coach, you will play a vital role in developing student-athletes both athletically and personally. You'll assist the head coach in organizing and managing year-round football activities while fostering character and sportsmanship among our players.
Key Responsibilities: - Plan and oversee all aspects of the football program.
- Ensure the program is competitive and focused on character building.
- Recruit students and collaborate with other schools to build a talent pipeline.
- Develop year-round training strategies to enhance student skill development.
- Create skill enrichment programs and opportunities for growth.
- Lead practice sessions and coach during games and events.
- Provide exceptional personal coaching and inspire young athletes.
- Hire and maintain a supportive coaching staff.
- Offer off-season training and development opportunities.
- Implement creative strategies to address MHS's unique circumstances.
The football season runs from August to November, with practices typically held Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM, including some Saturday commitments. Flexibility for off-season work is essential.
Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of successful coaching experience with a competitive program and strong character focus.
- Current knowledge of football techniques, rules, and training theory.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse youth, with experience working with lower-income students preferred.
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills.
- Motivated to build a football program and invest in student talent development.
- Must demonstrate high integrity and serve as a role model for students.
