Position: Junior Systems Engineer
Role Overview: As a Junior Systems Engineer, you will support the project team in various technical and administrative aspects throughout the lifecycle of our simulator projects. Your role will be critical in assisting senior engineers and project managers, ensuring smooth project execution, and helping maintain the highest standards of quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities: - Project Support: Assist with the design and scope of projects, including cost estimation, scheduling, and resource planning. Support the installation and initial support phases of assigned projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Senior System Engineers, Project Engineers and Program Managers to support the development of technical solutions, schedules, and cost estimates. Assist in drafting proposals, reports, and other documentation as needed.
- Project Coordination: Help track procurement activities and coordinate with contractors to ensure the smooth execution of project milestones. Assist with managing project scope, schedule, budget, and communication between all stakeholders.
- Risk and Change Management Support: Identify and report project risks and dependencies. Assist in managing changes in project scope, schedule, and costs, while supporting the development of mitigation plans.
- Technical Assistance: Support the technical specification and review processes, assisting with recommending solutions and reviewing third-party equipment integration. Gain experience with a variety of technical tools and systems.
- Quality Assurance: Assist in ensuring the project meets the highest standards of quality throughout the lifecycle. Participate in post-project evaluations to improve team processes and knowledge.
- Customer Support: Provide support to clients through various communication channels. Assist in customer and vendor interactions when needed.
Qualifications: - Education: A technical apprenticeship, relevant BS degree, or IT/Electronics certification is preferred.
- Experience: 0-3 years of experience in a systems integration environment. Experience or interest in naval systems, simulation, or software engineering is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in IT environments, including networks, operating systems, and technologies. Familiarity with MS Windows, MS Office, IT hardware, and tools is beneficial. Experience with CAD, Visio, and XML is a plus.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen, capable of obtaining and maintaining a Common Access Card. Hybrid/remote work options are available for local candidates.
