Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking a Junior Software Engineer with critical thinking and effective communication skills to join our system development team responsible for mission-critical, training, and real-time military software applications that will be deployed in commercial and/or private environments.
The position will require the potential partner to work on-site in Waterford, CT and may require some travel in support of the project.
What you will be doing:
- Work on interesting and challenging software projects (such as our Standard Space Trainer and wXstation systems).
- Use analytical and problem-solving skills to develop server-side simulation platforms using modern programming languages and technologies.
- Participate in various aspects of server-side development including Application Programming Interface (API) development, systems integration, database development, microservice design and development, data processing, etc.
- Participate in all areas of the software development lifecycle from planning through test and sustainment.

Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree
Desired, but not required, qualifications:
- Possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance
- Expertise building distributed microservices using C /.NET
- Expertise with other object-oriented languages e.g. C , Java, TypeScript, etc.
- Unit and integration testing
- Experience in and/or knowledge of:
- Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD)
- Unified Modeling Language (UML)
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Representational State Transfer (REST) API
- Functional programming patterns
- Asynchronous programming and general multi-threaded applications
- Database development and Structured Query Language (SQL)
- One or more Object Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks
- Unit and integration testing
- Messaging systems (e.g. ActiveMQ, Kafka, etc.)
