Junior Olympic Volleyball CoachesJob Summary - Provide coaching and instruction to youth volleyball players (openings to coach Grades 4 - 8) in a competitive athletic program.
- Season starts late November and runs through March 17. The season includes skill development and competition.
- Practices are held 2/week on Mondays/Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings Schedules and times are based on gym and coach availability.
- 5-6 one day tournaments are scheduled per team on Saturdays or Sundays, January - mid-March. Coaches are required to attend.
- Work collaboratively with the Youth Sports Coordinator to implement a coaching philosophy that is supportive of student/athletes' development.
- Communicate effectively with student/athletes, coaching staff, parents, and building administrators, regarding program needs and developments.
Qualifications - Understanding of fundamental skills and strategies.
- Effective practice management skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in collaboration with others.
- Understanding of the role of parent involvement and the ability to collaborate with parents.
- Commitment to supporting the whole student/athlete in athletic competition, academics, and in character development.
