POSITION SUMMARY

The Junior Network Engineer will assist in the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of the organization's network systems. This position is responsible for supporting the operation of advanced networks, troubleshooting, and resolving issues to ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT network infrastructure. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links, in addition to the regular duties of IT support staff.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in designing and implementing network infrastructure based on organization's requirements.
  • Troubleshoot network issues quickly by coordinating with network team and other relevant departments.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Perform network maintenance and upgrades during scheduled downtime.
  • Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.
  • Maintain, configure, and monitor virus protection software, email applications, and network software.
  • Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.
  • Provide technical support for network connectivity or related network issues for the user base.
  • Participate in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the company's network infrastructures.
  • Document and maintain the organizations network topology, operational procedures, and incident reports.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
  • A bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on-experience in a network support role or a similar technical environment is required.
  • Industry Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent are a plus.
  • Other certifications, coursework, or training related to network security, systems, cloud computing, or similar fields are advantageous.
  • Experience with configuring and maintaining network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing network security measures, including knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices.
  • Understanding of networking protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
  • Basic knowledge of coding/scripting (e.g., Python, Perl).
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
