Futures are supporting a growing manufacturer near Oldham who are looking to appoint a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer. As a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have a recognised mechanical engineering degree and at least six months experience in a design focused role (internship and/or placement year). It would be beneficial for the appointed Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to have experience in industrial/product design and have a flair for the aesthetic. Junior Mechanical Design Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - Mechanical Engineer / Sheet Metal / Plastic / Aluminium / Assembly / Mechanical Engineer / SolidWorks
Assist the production team with the design of relevant jigs & fixtures, and manage their manufacture
Design a range of aesthetic products sheet metal, fabricated and machined parts, plastics
Ensure all products are designed with manufacture and assembly considerations
Generate tech packs, bill of materials and build instructions for the production teams
Build and test initial samples and qualify the design with the correct documentation
Provide technical support to Production for day-to-day design, performance and quality issues which arise

Degree educated in mechanical engineering or similar (Min 2:1)
Familiar with CAD packages SolidWorks, SolarEdge, Inventor, AutoCAD or similar
Some industry experience placement or internship acceptable.
