Position Title: Junior Linux System Administrator Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO Relocation Assistance: None available at this time Remote/Telework: NO - Not available for this position Clearance Type: DoD Secret Shift: Day shift (Mon-Fri) Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time Description of Duties: The Junior Linux System Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
• Troubleshoot and sustain Linux based physical and virtual machines for the Missile Defense Space Center.
• Administer OpenShift Container Platform and container Repositories/Registries.
• Support network engineers, system engineers, cybersecurity engineers, and additional system administrators, to provide high quality, innovative engineering services to the Government customer.
• Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoration, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations.
• Comply with organizational systems administration standard operating procedures
• Manage accounts and access to Linux systems and equipment
• Be responsible for ensuring system software installation, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.
• Conduct functional, security, and connectivity testing to ensure continuing operability of Linux based infrastructure. The successful candidate will:
• Be a strong innovator in process improvement and system design.
• Be able to quickly learn challenging concepts, decompose difficult software problems and provide resolution.
• Be able to create and follow standard processes and clearly document results.
• Have a strong understanding of system administration concepts.
• Have excellent presentation, oral and written skills to facilitate effective and efficient interchanges with program and government stakeholders.
• Be able to report to Schriever SFB within 2 hours to support mission surge support events.
• Support occasional evening and weekend events for the MDA customers.
• Have knowledge of Linux system administration.
• Have a positive, "can-do" attitude, be able to work in a very high paced and dynamic environment and embrace change.

Basic Requirements: Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 4 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 2 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree and 0 years of general experience.
• Must have a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification with Continuing Education (CE) - (CCNA-Security, CySA , GICSP,GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP)
• Must have or be able to obtain within six months of hire, a recognized active Linux certification (Linux , RHCSA, LPIC, LFCS)
• Must have 2 years of direct experience in Linux Command Line Interface
• Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher Desired Requirements:
• Have experience with Linux system administration in a DoD environment
• Have experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment using Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) Servers
• Positive attitude and willingness to expand knowledge and skill set
• Have experience resolving hardware & software conflicts, performing server maintenance and break/fix activities This position is expected to pay $89,500 - $114,500 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position. This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days.
