Pay Rate: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour.

Position Purpose:

Veolia is dedicated to driving innovation and efficiency through the implementation of cutting-edge technology solutions. We are seeking a Junior Java Developer Intern to join our dynamic team and play a key role in designing and developing applications to complement our business processes and drive operational excellence.
As a Junior Java Development Intern you will work closely with the application architects, product managers, and technical team members to understand business requirements, and design and develop the technology solutions.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with solution architects, product owners, and technology teams to understand business requirements.
2. Design and develop software solutions as per the architecture and solution designed using Java and related technologies 3. Follow best software design and development principles to develop secure, scalable, and robust code
4. Work in agile development model (scrum or kanban)
5. Use git repositories for version control and be able to work with CI/CD tools 6. Develop and execute unit and integration test plans and test cases to validate the functionality and reliability of the developed code, ensuring alignment with business requirements and user expectations.
7. Create comprehensive documentation, including business process documentation, functional specifications, and user manuals, to support the implementation and maintenance of developed solutions.

  • Environments vary by internship function from office to field to plant.
  • Our aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern.

Education/Experience/Background:
  • Currently pursuing or received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited institution. If pursuing, expected graduation date within one year.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience with Java programming, Java frameworks, and libraries
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Familiarity with web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)

Desired Skills:
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle, familiarity with version control (e.g. Git)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, and ability to adapt to new technologies and tools quickly
