The Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer will assist in maintaining and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring its availability, performance, and security. You will work closely with senior engineers to support the deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Assist with the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
- Monitor infrastructure performance and assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
- Support system backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Assist in network administration tasks, including configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Help with regular system upgrades, patch management, and security monitoring.
- Assist with IT support requests, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Participate in maintaining and supporting cloud-based solutions and services (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Assist in ensuring network and system security by monitoring and applying security patches and updates.
- Provide technical support to internal teams, helping with infrastructure-related queries and challenges.
- Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and issues as required.
- Participate in ongoing learning and professional development in IT infrastructure management.
Required Skills and Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5 years of hands-on experience is required.
- Advanced understanding of IT infrastructure concepts (networking, servers, storage).
- Experience with Windows, Linux, or other operating systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy management.
- Experience with systems administration, monitoring, and performance analysis tools.
- Knowledge of hardware components, including servers, networking devices, and storage systems.
- Advanced understanding of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation tasks is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of ERP systems.
- Familiarity with AV and Surveillance systems.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the IT infrastructure domain.
Desired Skills and Qualifications: - Knowledge of CompTIA Network+ or Sec+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals or similar
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
- Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
