Pay Rate - $28.00 - $35.00/hr (Depending on Experience)
The Utility Communications team at one of our largest Fortune 500 Energy and Utilities clients is looking to hire a Jr. IT Analyst. As a Jr. IT Analyst, you work to support capacity planning and expansion initiatives and power reliability projects. Within this role, Senior-level Engineers will mentor and train you on utility-specific tools and systems such as SACAD and Itron. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and fundamental networking and radio frequency knowledge.
Qualifications
- Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent bachelor's degree
- 0-1 year of work or internship experience in an engineering (Network, Systems, Computer) focused role
- Excellent analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge or experience working with Power BI and creating dashboards is a plus
- Knowledge or experience with SCADA is a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage tasks related to capacity expansion and planning on the distribution automation (DA) network
- Support network and radio frequency designs
- Participate in mesh expansion capital projects, contributing technical expertise.
- Utilize SCADA applications for monitoring and control.
- Use Google Earth for mapping and planning.
- Operate vendor-provided tools (ITRON).
- Utilize Microsoft tools (Excel, pivot tables) for data analysis.
- Analyze data and create dashboards using PowerBI.
- Perform packet capture analysis with Wireshark.
- Follow approval processes for changes and updates.
