The Team

This role is within the IT Development and Delivery team, which manages and maintains the core software used to deliver pension services to our clients. We develop in-house software tailored to our processes to maintain a competitive edge, focusing on pragmatic solutions to real business needs.

The Role

As a Junior Developer at XPS, you will:

  • Work as part of a small in-house development team across all application tiers-front end, business logic/services, and database layers.
  • Operate within an Extreme Programming (XP) team, delivering incremental value quickly.
  • Develop solutions using the Microsoft Azure tech stack.
  • Collaborate with business experts and discuss solutions in non-technical terms.
  • Wear multiple hats beyond coding, including writing unit tests and learning Azure configuration.
  • Focus on team-fit, speed, and quality of code.
  • Participate in pair programming, screen sharing, and team presentations.
Your Profile

Essential Criteria:

  • A relevant degree in Math, Computer Science, or Engineering with programming skills.
  • Motivated to learn and develop.
  • Logical thinker with programming experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases/languages is advantageous.
  • Passionate about starting a career as a developer.
