Junior Data Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated Junior Data Engineer for a fully remote, contract position. In this role, you will contribute to the development of modern, data-driven solutions that support operational efficiency and decision-making. This is a great opportunity to grow your technical skills in a collaborative environment while working on real-world data challenges.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in advanced analytics and experience in data engineering. This role involves working closely with product managers, software engineers, and stakeholders to design and build forecasting and selection algorithms and associated data pipelines/systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Pipeline Development:

. Design, build, and maintain ELT data pipelines using SQL and dbt.

b. Ensure data pipelines are robust, scalable, and efficient.

2. Database Management:

. Develop and maintain databases using Redshift, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL.

b. Manage data storage solutions and ensure data quality and integrity.

3. Programming and Scripting:

. Write and optimize scripts in Python for algorithm development and automation.

b. Develop and maintain algorithms for business-specific applications, such as selection of products for QC.

4. Predictive Analytics and Forecasting:

. Develop predictive models and forecasting tools to support business applications.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in SQL and Python.

• Experience with dbt and ELT data pipeline development.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).

• Knowledge of version control systems (Git).

• Experience with Redshift, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL.

• VBA skills are a plus.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
