Title: Junior Business Architect
Location: Washington, DC / Hybrid

Employment Type: Full-Time (Subcontractor) Level: Entry to Mid-Level (1-3 years of
experience) Position Summary: As a Junior Business Architect, you will work closely with senior architects, business stakeholders, and program teams to support enterprise-level planning, analysis, and design efforts. You will assist in mapping business capabilities, documenting business processes, performing gap analyses, and supporting the alignment of TSA's business needs with IT solutions through structured architectural methods. Key Responsibilities:
• Support Business Architecture Development: Assist in documenting and maintaining TSA's business architecture models, including business capability maps, value streams, organizational structures, and business functions.
• Process Documentation & Analysis: Facilitate and document current and future state business processes, workflows, and use cases using tools such as BPMN or UML. Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements.
• Technology Business Management Alignment: Collaborate with TSA business
units to support Technology Business Management (TBM) alignment with TSA's Program
Elements, Investments and Systems.
• Enterprise Architecture Integration: Contribute to the integration of business architecture with data, application, and technology domains. Support the mapping of business capabilities to IT assets and initiatives.
Impact Analysis: Support the identification of gaps between current and target states of
business operations and provide recommendations to bridge them.
• Support EA Governance:
Participate in EA review boards, architecture governance activities, and compliance reviews,
ensuring alignment with TSA's EA principles and federal mandates.
Investment Support: Provide input to capital planning, investment control (CPIC), and portfolio management
activities by linking business capabilities to investment justifications. Qualifications: Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in business analysis, business architecture, or enterprise architecture support.
• Strong understanding of business process modeling and basic architecture concepts.
• Familiarity with FEAF.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and business modeling tools (Visio, etc.). Preferred:
•Knowledge of the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF) or experience in a federal agency environment.
• Understanding of TSA's mission or experience supporting DHS components.
• Familiarity with Agile and/or SAFe frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as Business Architecture Guild certifications. Key Competencies:
