Junior Accountant Role Description Junior Accountant We are looking for a dedicated Junior Accountant with a focus on treasury support to join our accounting team. This role will involve assisting with various accounting tasks, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes, while also gaining exposure to treasury operations such as cash flow monitoring and banking transactions. This position is perfect for someone eager to build a solid foundation in accounting and develop skills in treasury management. Key Responsibilities Assist in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Support the preparation and processing of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. Aid in month-end and year-end close activities, including financial reporting tasks. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. Help facilitate external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries. Contribute to budget preparation, variance analysis, and the preparation of financial statements. Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial regulations in all accounting activities. Treasury Support Responsibilities Participate in monitoring daily cash flow and contribute to cash flow forecasting activities. Assist in performing bank reconciliations and maintaining relationships with financial institutions. Support the processing of wire transfers, ACH payments, and intercompany transactions as required. Contribute to the preparation of treasury reports for review by management. Requirements U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance (successful completion of background and credit checks). Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience; exposure to treasury functions is a plus. Sound knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP compliance, and financial reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP). Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and maintain accuracy. Analytical mindset with keen attention to detail. Previous experience in construction accounting would be advantageous but is not required. Familiarity with Vista by Viewpoint software is beneficial but not essential.
