Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Jr. System Administrator to join our growing IT team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others. You'll play a key role in supporting our staff, maintaining systems, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our IT operations.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide first-line technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Install, configure, and update hardware and software as needed
- Manage user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365
- Monitor and maintain IT inventory and asset documentation
- Assist with data backups, cybersecurity practices, and routine audits
- Collaborate with senior IT staff to roll out new technologies and updates
- Respond to help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner
- Provide technical training and create documentation for end users
- Support server and network infrastructure, including configuration, maintenance, and monitoring
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including system restores and access issues
- Ensure operating systems and applications are patched and up to date
- Implement and manage data backup solutions and perform recovery operations
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Maintain accurate documentation, including network diagrams and troubleshooting guides
- Support basic security measures such as system scans, access controls, and vulnerability assessments
- Collaborate with senior administrators to ensure smooth IT operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - or equivalent work experience
- 1-2 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a related role (internships and academic projects are a plus)
- Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and basic networking concepts
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and grow
