Junior Production Engineer

Position Summary:

An exciting opportunity for an entry-level engineer to join a growing manufacturing and distribution operation. This position is designed as a two-year mentorship under a Senior Production Manager. The Junior Production Engineer will be involved in designing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing processes, with a focus on improving production efficiency, ensuring high product quality, and minimizing operational costs.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on, collaborative environment and be eager to contribute to cross-functional teams while gaining valuable shop-floor experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing production processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for optimization.

  • Design and implement improved manufacturing workflows and modifications.

  • Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with demand forecasts.

  • Partner with design and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.

  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate production output and quality.

  • Ensure all operations comply with relevant safety regulations and quality standards.

  • Investigate production issues, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.

  • Train production staff on new processes, technologies, and equipment.

  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis for process changes and equipment upgrades.

  • Prepare technical documentation, process flowcharts, and improvement reports.

  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing practices.

  • Support production and engineering teams in resolving quality concerns.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and root cause analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CAD tools or ERP systems is a plus.

  • Ability to manage production schedules and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Experience working with cross-functional and international teams.

  • Positive, adaptable mindset with a willingness to pitch in as needed in a fast-paced environment.
