Description The Jr Network Administrator administers and oversees the implementation, organization, and troubleshooting of the network, hardware, and underlying communications protocols while assuring the network functions at optimal levels.
Work Hours: Flexible between7am - 6pm, Monday through Friday

Responsibilities: - Assist the network administrator in the configure, monitor, and upgrade network firewalls, routers, and security.
- Assist in the operational and maintenance of plant phone systems.
- Recommend network design, implementation and/or additional security solutions or enhancements to existing solutions to improve overall system security.
- Monitor network equipment, ensuring optimal function and minimal downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance procedures and maintain control records.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Work with Contractors to schedule installs and repairs.
- Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent.
RequirementsSkills and Abilities- Prior experience maintaining network security, firewalls, switches, and routers.
- Knowledge with phone technologies such as POTs, digital, IP, and cloud phones.
- Familiar with Cisco, Palo Alto, VPNs, SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi.
- Hands-on technical troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of complex network infrastructures.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines.
- Attendance is an essential function of the position.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field preferred or a combination of education, experience, and training is required.
- At least 1 to 3 years working as a network administrator.

Contacts involve giving or exchanging information of a limited controversial nature.
Regularly - Communicates via phone, email, in person.
- Required to sit, perform keyboard work, for prolonged periods of time.
- Operates a computer and other office machinery such as copy machine, and printer.
Frequently - Travel up to 25% of the time to perform upgrades and necessary maintenance when needed.
- Talk and hear to coordinate day-to-day phone and in person transactions.
Occasionally - Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Walk and use stairs to move throughout the building.
- Occasional irregular hours may be required for urgent break/fix support.
Standard office environment. The noise level is usually low, due to office equipment.
