Position Overview: The Georgia Superior Court Clerks' Cooperative Authority (GSCCCA), a client of Millennium Information Tek, is seeking a Jr. Network Administrator. The Jr. Network Administrator is responsible for supporting the stable operation of the GSCCCA networks. This includes monitoring the health of the networks and responding promptly to issues. The Jr. Network Administrator will configure, maintain, and optimize all network-related equipment and links while providing end user support on network-related issues. This role reports directly to the Network Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with the installation and configuration of network and security devices.
- Monitors network performance to ensure reliability and availability.
- Identifies and resolves issues with network hardware and connectivity.
- Establishes and maintains troubleshooting procedures for the Network Department to better diagnose and manage network issues.
- Creates and maintains operating procedures, manuals, and network diagrams.
- Maintains current and backup configurations for all network devices.
- Monitors, documents, and escalates security events and vulnerabilities, taking appropriate actions when necessary.
- Assists with planning and implementing network upgrades to improve capacity and performance.
- Responds to network emergencies and outages to quickly restore services.
- Serves as an escalation partner for the Help Desk and effectively communicates issues to network engineers.
- Serves as point of contact for on-site support for Superior Court Clerks' offices requiring occasional travel.
- Occasionally required to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field.
- Two years of professional experience in a technical support or equivalent role.
- A foundational knowledge of Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) concepts.
- Experience working in a Network Operations Center or equivalent.
- Proven skills in network, operations, and performance analysis.
- Experience with network monitoring tools.
- Strong communication skills for training and assisting users.
- Experience with firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Professional certifications such as Network+, Security+, or other industry-leading certifications.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as requested.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with firewall policy creation and implementation.
- Experience configuring Cisco routers and switches
